I've used a couple of these photos before but it's worth repeating. There are lots of climate change/glacier recession photos around, but here are a few with an extra personal interest. I first came to the Val d'Hérens in 1985 on a family holiday, my parents 40th birthday year - here's my Mum at the tongue of the Mont Miné glacier...
Today, 40 years (and a few weeks) later we went back. Here she is standing in roughly the same spot. You can compare the gravel bank just behind her head to the top right corner of the older photo. I think we were standing no more than 25m from the 1985 photo spot.
