In a few weeks we'll be a quarter of the way through the 21st century, so a blog post is definitely overdue. In fact a website update is long overdue...yes, several people have pointed this out and it will happen, but these things take time...

Meanwhile, it's been a looonnnggg Summer with a lot of mountains climbed by Frostguiding teams. HUGE thanks to our team of guides, chalet staff and of course to our clients!

Here's a photo-by-photo account of most of the routes I did starting way back in May with a trip to Scotland.

Old Man of Hoy

Followed by a quick change of scene...

The start of the season was very snowy with 30% more snow than average. We snow-shoed to the Aiguille de la Tsa.

Tour Ronde North Face

Eccles bivouac approach before a frustrating failure on the Aiguille Blanche!

Table de Roc ridge on the Aiguille du Tour - the first route I climbed in the Alps, way back in 1989

A dry rock ridge at last - 23rd July on the La Gouille arete of Mont Vélan

...before the long drive East to Pontresina for the beautiful Biancograt on Piz Bernina, the most Easterly 4000m peak. This is a 5 hour drive from Evolene with a 4 hour hut walk in the afternoon but the Biancograt is stunning and worth the effort, the Palu traverse is a beautiful second day and the 6 hour Friday afternoon drive home was, well...tiring.

Part 2 of the Summer will follow soon!
